Be Present: Maximising The Gift of Today While Having The Bigger Picture In Mind
The journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. – Lao Tzu
I don’t think people who die wake up knowing today’s going to be their last day. Yet, we live as if death will send us a notice before visiting. We tend to forget about our mortality.
Do you dream of an amazing life? Then be intentional about how you spend today. Whatever you do today influences how your life will turn out tomorrow. Today is the most assured day, utilise it well. Spend each time wisely and do what counts. Here’s how to live the life you’ve always dreamt of.
When you focus on living in the moment, you worry less. If you’re a worrier, try focusing at the task at hand every time without giving much thought to the next moment. Worrying is probably the most time-wasting pursuit in the world. It changes nothing. Do your best and worry not.
Procrastination Is The Thief Of Time
If you’ve ever waited to finish your work or assignment the night before your deadline, you can actually transfer that same urgency into your work each day to maximize the present. Procrastination happens when we think we have time. Well, you don’t. So get to work.
Seeds germinate and grow when planted and nourished properly. Sow seeds of greatness each day. Put in the hours of work towards your dream daily. Add to your body of work each day. A great work is a compilation of small daily inputs. Every day, raise the bar a little higher. Be a little extra. Think less of the struggle that lies ahead and focus on performing the task at hand. That can mean focusing on just this moment and not the next two hours.
Are you just running through your day or actively participating in every part of it?
Create miracles. Be intentional.
