A Letter To The Man Of My Dreams

Dream,

I am tempted to make a list of things I expect from you but I will refrain from that. Instead, I want to first of all show appreciation for all that you’ve been to me. Honestly, I don’t think I have done that enough.

Thank you for loving me.
Thank you for pushing me.
Thank you for wanting me to live my dreams.
Thank you for being fearless with me.
Thank you for accommodating all my rush attitudes.
Thank you for showing me your scars.
Thank you for allowing me to pick your brain constantly.

Our paths crossed by providence. We fell in love with each other. I wish I could insert the ‘happily ever after’ storyline here but that will be false. We’ve had storms and fires, and experienced some unpleasant situations. Nevertheless, you’re still my person, the man of my dreams.

They say falling in love is easy but staying in love is hard. So, I want to reaffirm my love for you and assure you of my full participation of what we share. Fortunately, it takes two to tango.

May we purpose in our heart to make us work.
May we not take each other for granted.
May we survive the hard times.
May we remain interested in the growth of our love.
May we choose each other over and over again.
May we do great stuff together.
May we create wealth.

Every ship needs a captain. Being the captain means you lead by example. Your place as the captain is reserved. I follow your lead.

I will respect you.
I am open to love and be loved.
I am willing to help you figure things out.
I will be completely involved in our affairs.
I will be your number one fan for life.
I will support you in every way possible.
I will pray for you.
I will be good to you.
I will buy you fancy things with my money.
I will be totally open to you. The kind of open where all my wounds and insecurities are displayed before you.
I will have deep talks with you.

I am ready to work things out to the end. I want you to want that too.

Can we shut all the doors of exit in our relationship?

Yours,

Dzifa.
